Just a quick word to congratulate writer-director Marco Bellocchio, producers Beppe Caschetto & Simone Gattoni and the team at IBC Movies / Kavac Films for the selection of The Traitor (Il Traditore) at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. The film will be in competition for the Palme d’Or.

I had the privilege to be involved in the project as a script development consultant. I worked with Marco Bellocchio, Beppe Caschetto (IBC Movies) and Simone Gattoni (Kavac Films) before production started last year. Of course I’m thrilled to see the film begin its career in such a spectacular way!

The movie tells the life of Mafia pentito Tommaso Buscetta. Pierfrancesco Favino stars as Buscetta, alongside Maria Fernanda Cândido and Luigi Lo Cascio. Don’t miss it if you’re in Cannes this year.
