I’m back from Dublin where I had a great time running my Thriller and Comedy workshops for an audience of writers, directors, story editors and producers selected by Screen Skills Ireland. Feedback from previous editions was very useful and the content had been updated with new case studies, so keep it coming!
Some of the participants had attended the 3-day Advanced Development Workshop I delivered last month, the others had read Screenwriting Unchained, as these genre modules build on the Story-Type Method® introduced in the book / main workshop.
Many thanks to Grainne Bennett and Gareth Lee for their kind invitation and to the participants for their stimulating questions and great stamina – especially those who did the two workshops back to back!
Here is a selection of the participants’ feedback on these two genre modules (thank you all for your kind words, spoken or written!):
“Terrific workshop. Emmanuel drilled down into the essence of various types of thrillers. Enlightening and inspiring. Delivered with passion and insight. I recommend Emmanuel’s Story-type method workshop for any writer, producer or director interesting in finding the most efficient and effective way to tell their story.” — Ferdia Mac Anna, Writer, director, producer and author
“Thank you so much for coming over to Dublin to give such an amazing workshop!” — Nuria Blanco, Producer at Cartoon Saloon
“I really enjoyed the workshop! It was mindblowing. Currently fizzing with some ideas. Thanks for all the insights!” — Olga Wehrly, Actor and writer
