I had a fantastic time delivering Writing a Successful Comedy this week to a wonderful group of 29 experienced Irish storytellers (writers, directors, producers and story editors). Based on the feedback received to date, the feeling was mutual... Huge thanks and congratulations to all, I can't wait to see your comedies on the small or big screen!
Final Q&A session on Day 4
Here are a few testimonials from some of the participants
Excellent workshop
Emmanuel’s comedy workshop was inspiring, enlightening, and very enjoyable. I took away from it tools and strategies that I will apply to my own work going forward, as well as some new connections.
Thank you!
Fantastic deep dive
Brilliant course for those looking to explore and improve their scripts – looking at character development, story development and ensuring you have the tools to tweak your work.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 4-day course
Thoroughly enjoyed the 4-day course and was introduced to a couple of great films that I had no previous knowledge of. Looking forward to putting the techniques learnt into practice.
This advanced comedy workshop was funded by Northern Ireland Screen. Grateful thanks to Ursula Devine for making it happen, and to Matthew Winters for his help during preparation and delivery.
